Sometime soon after I had first entered into to cannabis industry a friend of mine asked me a simple question. What will be the biggest difference in the cannabis industry 10 years from now versus today. I did not hesitate with my answer — We will know what we are doing. There will be standard answers to known problems. There will be guides and classes and entire degrees on how to do what we do.
For now, however, many operators are largely on their own. And the impacts are usually significant – sometimes adding up to the millions of dollars in lost productivity and revenue. Out of desperation many owners and operators turn to consultants from out West who, in turn, do little more than apply blanket solutions without regard for the needs of any individual company. This is particularly hazardous in the Massachusetts market where stringent regulations make traditional solutions impossible to apply.
